We train at the Southdown Sports Club, Cockshut Rd, Lewes between 7:00 and 8:00pm on Monday evenings.
The club is open to any girls who want to improve their skills and regularly play netball.
The club has been running since 2001 providing training facilities and league participation for girls who are enthusiastic about netball.
Training
During training we learn skills and drills to improve play; including improving passing and catching; balance and footwork; and tactical skills and use of space. The second half of the training is match practice where the players specialise in their favourite position but also play out of position to ensure they develop their all round game.
Matches
This season 2010/2011 we have an under 14 squad and an under 16 squad participating in the East Sussex Junior Netball League. The best and most committed players will be chosen to represent Lewes in the league.
We also have 14+ girls playing for Lewes Lightning in the Eastbourne Netball League.
As well as league matches we enter tournaments and have 'friendlies' with other local clubs so you will get plenty of opportunities to play matches.

The league is only for girls but we would be happy to provide training opportunities for any enthusiastic netballing boys and may be able to enter mixed tournaments. Contact one of the committee to discuss.
Joining the club
Come along to a training session and have a go. Here you can meet the coaches and other players and see if you enjoy it. If you then want to join you can download a membership form and bring it along to the next training session.
What to wear and bring
Wear comfortable shorts/jogger, a T shirt and bring a warm/waterproof top. Also a water bottle and, if you want to visit the tuck shop after training, some money. If this is your first time at the club, we will need a contact number for a parent or carer. If you decide to join LNC you will be given a club T shirt to wear at training and kits to wear during league matches will be provided.
Child protection
Read our child protection policy. We are currently developing our policy and are in the process of getting CRB checks for all adults in the club who have contact with children. This will be updated soon.
Affiliation to England Netball (the governing body of netball in England)
LNC are affilitated to the national governing body of netball called Netball England. This covers the club for personal liability insurance in case of an injury to a child or adult during training. The East Sussex Junior Netball League is also affiliated to Netball England.
