SATURDAY 8 OCTOBER 2011 - Lewes 37 - Heathfield Panthers 6
The U16's played their first League game on Saturday 8th October 2011, a big step up for the girls who all played in the U14's team last year. The match was against Heathfield Panthers. Lewes took a few minutes to settle, with some inaccurate passes, but then soon took control of the game and by the end of the 1st quarter were winning 12 -1, with Katie Saunders not missing a single shot!
Lewes kept the pressure on in the 2nd quarter as Katie and Georgina Prosser worked well together in the circle, scoring another 9 goals between them, whilst great defensive work from Francesca Steadman, Evie Rowe and Jade Bowman meant that Heathfield couldn't get the ball in the circle and failed to score in this quarter.

U16's in their new kit!
Lewes scored another 9 goals in the 3rd quarter, with Nancy Collins moving into a shooting position and they only let 1 goal in, thanks to the continued pressure from the Lewes defence and the tireless performance from Emma Sallis as centre.
Lewes made several changes in the last quarter and continued to play well. Heathfield made a last big effort and scored 4 goals, making the final score 37 - 6 to Lewes. Well done girls!
